According to the Hindu calendar, when the Sun God enters each zodiac sign, it is called Sankranti. There are 12 Sankrantis in a year, out of which Libra Sankranti is considered special. On this day, the Sun God leaves the Virgo zodiac and enters the Libra zodiac. It is considered extremely auspicious for charity, virtue and religious works.
