Significance of Hariyali Teej
Fast of Married Women:On this day, married women observe fast for the long life of their husbands and prosperity of the family and worship Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.

Hariyali Teej Puja Vidhi
Bath and Purification:Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Married women are specially dressed up and apply henna.
Installation of the idol of Shiva-Parvati: Install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
Preparation of Puja: Keep incense, lamp, sandalwood, flowers, sweets, fruits, mehndi, bangles and other Suhaag items in the puja plate.
Resolve for the fast: Meditate on Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati and take a vow to fast.
Worship of Shiva-Parvati: Worship Shiva-Parvati, perform their abhishek and offer flowers to them. Offer Suhaag Samagri and listen to Teej Katha.
Bhajans and Kirtans:After the puja, women sing bhajans and kirtans and dance.
Swinging:There is a tradition of swinging on Hariyali Teej. Women swing on trees and sing Sawan songs.
Fast Breaking:The next day, break the fast after worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in the morning.
